CHANGING THE SACD MODE SETTINGS 3 Press ENTER. The unit displays "TEST TONE." 4 Press ENTER. Two seconds of test tone are output from each speaker in the following order. TEST LEFT (left main) CENTER (center) TEST RIGHT (right main) Adjusting the brightness of the display You can adjust brightness of the display. DIMMER TEST L. SURROUND (left rear) TEST R. SURROUND (right rear) 5 Press ENTER to stop the test tone, press the cursor button l or h to select a speaker to adjust, then press ENTER again. Pressing the cursor button l or h steps through the display indication as follows: TEST TONE Press DIMMER. Each time you press DIMMER, the brightness changes as follows: BRIGHT DIM AUTO BALANCE C (center) BALANCE RS (right surround: right rear) BALANCE LS (left surround: left rear) • In DIM mode, the front panel display will be dimmed, and SACD mode indicators will be turned off during playback. In AUTO mode during playback, the front panel display will be dimmed, and SACD mode indicators will be turned off. BALANCE SW (subwoofer) Example: Adjusting the right rear speaker level Select BALANCE RS, then press ENTER. The unit displays the following indication, and the left and right main speakers and the right rear speaker output a test tone at the same time. Changing the time indicator You can select a time indicator style for Super Audio CD playback. TIME Notes • You cannot adjust the level of the main speakers. Instead, you adjust the level of the center, left and right rear speakers based on the level of the main speakers. • No test tone is output from speakers marked "None" in the selected speaker mode (see the speaker mode chart on page 31). In this case, you will be unable to adjust the level. 6 Press the cursor button l or h to adjust the level balance. Press the cursor button to move "+" one step. Press h to increase or l to decrease the selected speaker level relative to the main speaker level. • One step equals 0.5dB. 7 Press ENTER to confirm the setting. The unit displays the next speaker's balance setting. 8 Press SETUP. The unit displays the standard screen. Press TIME during playback. Press TIME to change the time indicator as follows: Track elapsed time Track remaining time Disc remaining time Note • The unit does not display a disc's remaining time during pro- gram play or random play. 32

Select BALANCE RS, then press ENTER. The unit
displays the following indication, and the left and
right main speakers and the right rear speaker output
a test tone at the same time.
Notes
You cannot adjust the level of the main speakers. Instead, you
adjust the level of the center, left and right rear speakers based
on the level of the main speakers.
No test tone is output from speakers marked “None” in the
selected speaker mode (see the speaker mode chart on
page 31). In this case, you will be unable to adjust the level.

In DIM mode, the front panel display will be
dimmed, and SACD mode indicators will be
turned off during playback. In AUTO mode during
playback, the front panel display will be dimmed,
and SACD mode indicators will be turned off.
You can select a time indicator style for Super Audio CD
playback.
Press TIME during playback.
Press TIME to change the time indicator as follows:
Note
The unit does not display a disc’s remaining time during pro-
gram play or random play.
