Using the MIDI Functions Connecting to a Personal Computer By connecting your YPP-200's MIDI terminals to a personal computer, you can have access to a wide variety of music software. When using a MIDI interface device installed in the personal computer, connect the MIDI terminals of the personal computer and the YPP-200. Use only special MIDI cables when connecting MIDI devices. G Connect the MIDI terminals of the YPP-200 to the MIDI terminals of the personal computer. MIDI OUT MIDI IN MIDI IN Computer (sequencer software) MIDI OUT YPP-200 • When connecting the YPP-200 to a personal computer, first turn the power to both the YPP-200 and the computer OFF before connecting the cable. After connecting the cable, turn the power to the computer on first, then turn on the YPP-200. G When using a MIDI interface with a Macintosh series computer, connect the RS-422 terminal of the computer (modem or printer terminal) to the MIDI interface, as shown in the diagram below. Connect the UX256 and the computer with a standard USB cable, then make the proper MIDI connections between the YPP-200 and the UX256. Connecting to a Personal Computer
By connecting your YPP-200’s MIDI terminals to a personal computer, you can have
access to a wide variety of music software.
When using a MIDI interface device installed in the personal computer, connect the MIDI
terminals of the personal computer and the YPP-200.
Use only special MIDI cables when connecting MIDI devices.
When using a MIDI interface with a Macintosh series computer, connect the
RS-422 terminal of the computer (modem or printer terminal) to the MIDI
interface, as shown in the diagram below.

sonal computer.
When connecting to a computer with a USB interface, use the Yamaha UX256
USB/MIDI Interface.
Connect the UX256 and the computer with a standard
USB cable, then make the proper MIDI connections between the YPP-200 and
the UX256.
