Changing the high and low beam bulbs Before replacing a burnt-out bulb, make sure that the new one complies with voltage and wattage as specified on page 87, "Electric system", for that lighting device. Always check for new bulb proper operation before refitting removed parts. Figure fig. 66 shows the position of the low beam (LO), high beam (HI) and parking light (1) bulbs. Important In the USA version, the position of the high and low beam bulbs is reversed. Headlamp Remove the instrument panel (2) from retaining rubber elements (see page 56) to gain access to the upper bulb. Rotate the locking ring nut (3) of the upper bulb body anticlockwise and extract the burnt-out bulb. Replace with a bulb of equal rating. On refitting, rotate the locking ring nut (3) clockwise to secure the bulb in place. To gain access to the lower bulb, remove the headlamp fairing as described in paragraph "Removing the fairings" on page 54 and unscrew the screws (5) to release the bottom cover (4) of the headlamp support.
