MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 115 Dust, Oil and/or Water Inspection the front hood for access. • Open Remove the drain cap on the bottom of the air • cleaner housing to expel dust, oil and/or water accumulate inside. Spark Arrester This vehicle is equipped with a spark arrester approved for off-road use by the U.S. Forest Service. It must be properly maintained to ensure its efficiency. In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart, clean the spark arrester. WARNING An incorrectly installed spark arrester can emit sparks and cause a fire. Be sure the spark arrester and muffler are installed securely. j Spark Arrester Cleaning and Inspection WARNING A. Air Cleaner Housing B. Drain Cap The muffler can become extremely hot during normal operation and cause severe burns. Since the engine must be running during this procedure, wear heat-resistant gloves while cleaning the spark arrester.
