SAFE OPERATION 81 Before Starting the Engine 1. 2. 3. Three "musts" before starting the engine are: Apply the parking brake, Put the shift lever in the "N" (neutral) position, Check the throttle pedal for proper operation. It should return to its rest position when released. Use the Parking Brake Always apply parking brake before exiting your vehicle. Before Starting the Engine
