Spark Arrestor MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION Periodically clean the spark arrestor to remove accumulated carbon. 1. Remove the three screws (1) and remove the arrestor (2) from the end of the muffler. 2. Use a non-synthetic brush to clean the arrestor screen (3). A synthetic brush may melt if components are warm. 3. Inspect the screen for erosion and replace if necessary. 4. Remove and inspect the gasket. Replace if worn or damaged. 5. Reinstall the gasket and arrestor. 6. Torque screws to 50 in. lbs. (5.6 Nm). Do not over-tighten. 2 1 3 131
