3 Changing the File Name The file name has four alphanumeric characters followed by a four-digit image number (p.162) and (Ex.) BE3B0001.JPG extension. The first four alphanumeric characters are set upon factory shipment and unique to the camera. However, you can change them. With "User setting1", you can change and register the four characters as desired. With "User setting2", if you register three characters, the fourth character from the left will be appended automatically to indicate the image size. Registering or Changing the File Name 1 Select [File name]. Under the [51] tab, select [File name], then press . 2 Select [Change User setting*]. Turn the dial to select a [Change User setting*] option, then press . 3 Enter any alphanumeric characters. For User setting1, enter four characters. For User setting2, enter three characters. Press the button to delete any unnecessary characters. Press the button, and the text palette will be highlighted in a color frame. Text can be entered. Operate the dial or to move the and select the desired character. Then press to enter it. 160
