Troubleshooting Troubleshooting 85RS-03K If a problem occurs while the machine is in use, try the actions suggested in this section before contacting technical support. Check the following first. Is the power switched ON?(P. 160) Has the power switch been just turned ON?(P. 160) Is the machine in the sleep mode?(P. 160) Are the [Paper Jam] or [Paper] Indicators blinking?(P. 160) Is anything other than "1" displayed?(P. 161) Do an "E" and a subsequent three-digit number repeatedly appear on the display?(P. 161) Is the power switched ON? Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into the machine and into the wall outlet. See the Starter Guide. Make sure that electricity is supplied from the power cord. Use another power cord or check to see if the cord is broken using a voltmeter. Turn OFF and ON the power switch. See the Starter Guide. If this works, proceed to " Has the power switch been just turned ON?(P. 160) " Has the power switch been just turned ON? Wait a few seconds until the machine starts and warms up. If this works, proceed to " Is the machine in the sleep mode?(P. 160) " Is the machine in the sleep mode? Press any key on the operation panel to return from the sleep mode. If this works, proceed to " Are the [Paper Jam] or [Paper] Indicators blinking?(P. 160) " Are the [Paper Jam] or [Paper] Indicators blinking? Make sure that paper is loaded properly in the paper cassette. " Loading Paper(P. 46) " Check to see if there is a jam somewhere inside the machine. 160
