Chapter 2 Installing the Access Point Mounting Above a Suspended Ceiling Step 12 Step 13 Step 14 Prior to attaching the access point to the mounting plate, ensure that the radio modules are completely inserted and both module latches are in the locked position (see Figure 2-24). Attach the access point to the mounting plate (see the "Mounting Plate Attached to a Surface" section on page 2-26). Connect the antennas or antenna cables to the access point connectors and hand-tighten. Ensure the 2.4-GHz antennas or antenna cables are connected to the access point's 2.4-GHz antenna connectors (see Figure 1-1 on page 1-3). Note The access point 5-GHz antenna connectors have a blue label to correspond with the blue dot or label on the Cisco Aironet 5-GHz antennas or antenna cables. Step 15 Step 16 If you need additional security, see the "Securing the Access Point" section on page 2-27 for additional information. Verify the access point is operating before replacing the ceiling tile (see the "Powering Up the Access Point" section on page 2-22). Installing Option Two Option two consists of two B-Line mounting systems mounted on each end of the mounting bracket. The steps are basically the same as those in the "Installing Option One" section on page 2-13 except that the box hangers are positioned as shown in Figures 2-9 and 2-10.
