This is the VLAN that will be defined on this screen. VID 1 is the default VLAN. All ports are designated members of VID 1 when VLANs are enabled. When a port is assigned to another VLAN, it is removed from VLAN 1. If it is ever removed from the other VLAN, it will automatically return to being a member of VLAN 1. Thus, all unassigned ports are automatically members of VLAN 1. ♦ VLAN Name Description of the VLAN. ♦ Port Assignments To change port VLAN assignments, you must first enter a VLAN ID number in the VLAN ID field and press . Next, position the cursor over the dash "-" representing the appropriate port number and press to select V for member. Pressing again returns the V back into a '-'. A dash (-) means the port is not given VLAN membership for the VID entered above. An 'X' shows that the port belongs to a different VLAN. Pressing CLEAR erases all settings for the designated VLAN (VID). After designating ports as members of the VLAN, press APPLY to let the changes take effect. Choose Browse Port-based VLANs from the screen above to view the current Port-based VLAN settings. Using the Console Interface 75

The fields you can set are:
VLAN ID (VID)
Enter a VLAN ID from 1 to 24 and hit <Enter>. This is the VLAN that will be defined on
this screen. VID 1 is the default VLAN. All ports are designated members of VID 1 when VLANs are
enabled. When a port is assigned to another VLAN, it is removed from VLAN 1. If it is ever removed from
the other VLAN, it will automatically return to being a member of VLAN 1. Thus, all unassigned ports are
automatically members of VLAN 1.

Port Assignments
To change port VLAN assignments, you must first enter a VLAN ID number in the

port number and press <space bar> to select
