If you ordered a modem card with your computer, the card is already installed. Removing a Modem Card 1. Follow the procedures in Before Working on Your Computer. 2. Turn the computer upside down. 3. Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see Removing the E5400 Bottom of the Base Assembly or Removing the E5500 Bottom of the Base Assembly). 4. Remove the M2 x 3-mm screw that secures the modem card. 5. Press the modem card edge closest to the back of the computer until it loosens. 6. Lift up the modem card by the tab to fully remove it from the connector. NOTE: It may be necessary to loosen the cable from its guide channel. 7. Removing a Modem Card
Replacing a Modem Card
Your computer supports a modem card. If you ordered a modem card with your computer, the card is already installed.
Removing a Modem Card
1.
Follow the procedures in
Before Working on Your Computer
.
2.
Turn the computer upside down.
3.
Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see

or
Removing the E5500 Bottom of the Base
Assembly
).
4.
Remove the M2 x 3-mm screw that secures the modem card.
5.
Press the modem card edge closest to the back of the computer until it loosens.
6.
Lift up the modem card by the tab to fully remove it from the connector.
7.
Turn the modem card over, hold it while removing its cable and remove it from the computer.
