Syntax: [no] ip address / Syntax: ip default-gateway Before connecting equipment to a Layer 3 switch, you must assign an interface IP address to the subnet on which the router will be located. Refer to your B-FCX hardware installation guide for instructions to configure IP addresses on devices running and Layer 3 software. Connecting network equipment to B-FCX device Once you power on the device and assign IP addresses, the system is ready to accept network equipment. Refer to your B-FCX device hardware installation guide for the following instructions: • Configuring IP parameters for devices running Layer 2 and 3 software • Connecting to network devices such as routers, workstations, switches, and hubs. • Connectors • Cable specifications • Testing connectivity • Troubleshooting network connections Once equipment is connected, you can continue configuring B-FCX devices using the CLI or management interface.
