Command Completion CLI can complete partially entered commands when the user presses the or key. If a command entered is not complete, is not valid, or if some parameters of the command are not valid or missing, an error message is displayed to assist in entering the correct command. By pressing the key, an incomplete command is changed into a complete command. If the characters already entered are not enough for the system to identify a single matching command, the key displays the available commands matching the characters already entered. Short Form Commands The CLI supports the short forms of all commands. As long as it is possible to recognize the entered command unambiguously, the CLI accepts the short form of the command as if the user typed the full command. Keyboard Shortcuts The CLI has a range of keyboard shortcuts to assist in editing the CLI commands. The help command, when used in the User EXEC and Privileged EXEC modes, displays the keyboard short cuts. The following table contains the CLI shortcuts displayed by the help command.
