23 System Time Overview The commands in this chapter configure time values on the system, either using the Dell Force10 operating software (FTOS), the hardware, or using the network time protocol (NTP). With NTP, the switch can act only as a client to an NTP clock host. For more information, refer to the "Network Time Protocol" section of the Management chapter in the Dell Force10 Configuration Guide for the M I/O Aggregator. Time Commands The NTP commands are: • calendar set • show calendar • show clock • clock read-calendar • clock set • clock summer-time date • clock summer-time recurring • clock timezone • clock update-calendar calendar set Set the time and date for the switch hardware clock. Syntax Parameters calendar set time month day year time month Enter the time in hours:minutes:seconds. For the hour variable, use the 24-hour format, for example, 17:15:00 is 5:15 pm. Enter the name of one of the 12 months in English. You can enter the name of a day to change the order of the display to time day month year. System Time | 229
