Clicking the icon opens the MD vCenter Plug-in Storage Array Manager view and shows a list of known storage arrays. Figure 14. MD vCenter Plug-in Array Manager View Adding a Storage Array To add a storage array using the MD vCenter Plug-in: NOTE: The Add Array dialog fields are limited to 30 characters. If you require a longer DNS name and cannot use an IP address, create an alias to use in this dialog. 1 In the Commands area of the Array Manager view, click Add Array. 2 A dialog box appears showing DNS name/IP address text boxes and a password field. Figure 15. Add Array Dialog 3 In DNS Name or IP Address 1, enter the IP address or name of controller 0 on the storage array. 4 In DNS Name or IP Address 2, enter the IP address or name of controller 1 on the storage array. 5 In Password, enter a password for the storage array you are adding. This password will be required by the MD vCenter Plug-in to access the storage array. It will not change or override an existing storage array password set in Dell MD Storage Manager. 6 Click Add.
