DSP surround simulation • To operate the surround mode and surround parameters from the remote control unit. 1 Select the surround mode for the input channel. DOLBY/DTS SURROUND SURROUND DSP SIMU. 5CH / 7CH STEREO 6.1 / 7.1 SURROUND DIRECT STEREO 2, 4 3 (Remote control unit) The surround mode switches in the following order each time the DSP SIMULATION button is pressed: WIDE SCREEN MONO MOVIE ROCK ARENA MATRIX VIDEO GAME JAZZ CLUB 1 2 SURR. PARA. Display the surround parameter screen on the monitor. The screen for the selected surround mode appears. VCR DBS/CABLE VDP DVD DISPLAY SURR. PARA. SETUP TUNING MENU OSD RETURN A/B MEMORY BAND MODE CHANNEL VOLUME TUNING + + SKIP ENTER - SKIP SHIFT MUTING TUNER 1 PHONO 2 CDR/ TAPE VDP 4 5 VCR-1 7 VCR-2 /V.AUX 8 - CD 3 DVD 6 TV/DBS 9 TV/ VCR 0 +10 TEST TONE DOLBY/DTS SURROUND SPEAKER OUTPUT SURROUND DSP SIMU. 5CH / 7CH STEREO 6.1 / 7.1 SURROUND DIRECT STEREO (Remote control unit) 3 TUNING BAND MODE TUNING TUNING BAND MODE TUNING Set the parameters. (Remote control unit) 4 SURR. PARA. To end the setting mode, press the surround parameter button again. (Remote control unit) NOTES: • The surround speaker setting can also be changed with the SPEAKER button on the remote control unit. • When "Default" is selected and the F courser button is pressed, "CINEMA EQ." and "D.COMP." are automatically turned off, "ROOM SIZE" is set to "medium", "EFFECT LEVEL" to "10" and "DELAY TIME" to "30ms". • The "ROOM SIZE" expresses the expansion effect for the different surround modes in terms of the size of the sound field, not the actual size of the listening room. 54
