ENGLISH Auto search function • The set is equipped with a function for searching for the registration number if you do not know the preset code (a 4-digit number) when setting the preset memory. 1 For TV, DBS or CABLE components, turn on the component's power. For CD, MD, TAPE, DVD, VCR and VDP component's, turn on the component's power and load a disc or tape. 2 Press the power ON/SOURCE button and the OFF button simultaneously. • "SET UP" appears on the remote control unit's display. OFF ON / SOURCE 3 ENTER SHIFT Press the ENTER button. 4 Use the D and H cursor buttons to display "AUTOSEARCH" on the remote control unit, then press the ENTER button. TUNING BAND MODE TUNING ENTER SHIFT If you press the power OFF button late at step 6, press the D and H cursor button once to move to the next code or back to the previous code one step at a time. D button: Next code H button: Previous code Auto search resumes when you move ahead from the code at which you stopped. 9 OPERATION Before operating 1 Refer to "CONNECTIONS" (pages 4 to 8) and check that all connections are correct. 2 Select "AMP" using the RECEIVER button. (only when operating with the remote control unit) RECEIVER (Remote control unit) 3 Turn on the power. Press the POWER operation switch (button). ¢ ON / STANDBY £ OFF (Main unit) ON / SOURCE (Remote control unit) ON/STANDBY Lights • ¢ ON/STANDBY The power turns on and "ON/STANDBY" indicator is light. Several seconds are required from the time the power operation switch is set to the "¢ ON/STANDBY" position until sound is output. This is due to the built-in muting circuit that prevents noise when the power switch is turned on and off. Set the power operation switch to this position to turn the power on and off from the included remote control unit (RC-884). • £ OFF The power turns off and "ON/STANDBY" indicator is off. In this position, the power cannot be turned on and off from the remote control unit (RC884). 6 OFF When the component operates, press the POWER OFF button. • The mode and the registered number appear on the remote control unit's display. The channel switches on the TV, DBS or CABLE device and playback stops on a CD, MD, tape, DVD, VCR or VDP player. 7 ENTER SHIFT Press the ENTER button. • "COMPLETE" is displayed on the remote control unit's display and the selected code is preset.
