NOTE • Also refer to the operating instructions of the connected components when playing them. • External devices can be controlled by remote control unit (vpage 84 "Operating the Connected Devices by Remote Control Unit"). Playing Components When a DENON control dock for iPod (ASD-1R or ASD-11R, sold separately) is used, you can play images and music stored on an iPod®. iPod is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. b The iPod may only be used to copy or play contents that are not copyrighted or contents for which copying or playback is legally permitted for your private use as an individual. Be sure to comply with applicable copyright legislation. Listening to music on an iPod® Playing a Blu-ray Disc Player/DVD Player The following describes the procedure for playing Blu-ray disc player / DVD player. Use the same procedure to play other components. 1 Playback preparation. q Turn on the power of the TV, subwoofer and player. w Switch the TV's input to the AVR-990. e Load the disc in the player. 1 Playback preparation. q Connecting the DENON control dock for iPod to the AVR-990 (vpage 15 "Control Dock for iPod"). w Set the iPod® in the DENON control dock for iPod. e Set [DEVICE SELECT 1] to "MAIN/TV" [DEVICE SELECT 2] to "MAIN". 2 Turn the AVR-990 power on. (vpage 23 "Turning the Power On") 2 Turn the AVR-990 power on. (vpage 23 "Turning the Power On") 3 Press [SOURCE SELECT] and select the input source. Display the "SOURCE SELECT" menu (vpage 26). 4 Play the component connected to the AVR-990. Make the necessary settings on the player (language setting, subtitles setting, etc.) beforehand. 3 Press [SOURCE SELECT] to display the GUI Source Select menu, then select " " (vpage 26). The input source switches to the source to which the control dock for iPod is assigned and the iPod menu is displayed. - GUI screen - 5 Adjust the items below. n Adjusting the master volume (vpage 65) n Selecting the surround mode (vpage 67) n Adjusting the Sound and Picture Quality (vpage 69) (When using an ASD-1R) (When using an ASD-11R) b When using an ASD-11R, the "Music" and "Videos" folders are displayed on the top menu. b Once communications between the AVR-990 and the iPod are completed, the connections screen is displayed on the iPod. b If the connections screen is not displayed, the iPod may not be properly connected. The following describes the procedure for playing Blu-ray disc player /
DVD player. Use the same procedure to play other components.
Playing a Blu-ray Disc Player/DVD Player
