Simple version Basic version ENGLISH Playback in ZONE2 (Separate room) • You can operate this unit so as to enjoy audio in a room (ZONE2) other than the MAIN ZONE (room where the unit is located). • You can simultaneously play back the same source in both the MAIN ZONE and ZONE2. You can also play back separate sources in the MAIN ZONE and ZONE2. • There are two methods to do this, as described below. Choose one of the methods. q ZONE2 playback by speaker output w ZONE2 playback by audio output (using an external amplifier) The source selected for ZONE2 is also output from the recording output connectors. w ZONE2 playback by audio output The audio signals connected to this unit's ZONE2 output terminals (ZONE2 OUT) are output to the ZONE2's amplifier and played with that amplifier. Connection (ZONE2) MAIN ZONE L R Video output Video Connection The video signals of this unit's ZONE2 video output terminal are played by the ZONE2 TV. Connecting and setting the speakers This unit ZONE2 AUX IN RL NOTE • It is not possible to output video signals input to the HDMI or component terminals to ZONE2. • The menu screen is not output. "Amp Assign" setting (vpage 77) and audio signals output Connecting the speakers MAIN ZONE Advanced version Information ZONE2 Output signal : Stereo (L / R) This unit ZONE2 • Adjust the volume on the connected amplifier. • We recommend using high quality pin-plug cables for audio connections in order to prevent noise. • Also be sure to read the operating instructions of the connected devices. NOTE • When the input source to which the digital input connectors (OPTICAL/COAXIAL) are assigned is selected in ZONE2, playback is only possible if the digital signal being input is in PCM (2-channel) format. • It is not possible to play the digital audio signals input from the HDMI terminals in ZONE2. Use analog connections for ZONE2 playback. • When certain digital signals are being input, noise may be output from the ZONE2 audio output connectors. In this case, the volume for ZONE2 can be adjusted on the amplifier. 59

Playback in ZONE2 (Separate room)

that amplifier.
