Restoring default settings Caution: When you restore default settings, all the settings (except the password and parental rating) you have customized are reset. To restore default settings: 1 Press MENU on the remote control, or MENU on the control panel of your TV. The on-screen menu bar opens. 2 Press or to highlight Settings, then press ENTER. The Settings menu opens. 3 Press or to highlight Reset All, then press ENTER. You are asked for your PIN. 4 Enter your PIN number. A confirmation box opens. 5 Press or to select Yes, then press ENTER to load the default menu settings. After the system reset the Welcome prompt appears. Perform a channel scan to reload the channels to your TV and then access the on-screen menus to reconfigure the TV settings. Troubleshooting Warning: Do not try to repair your TV yourself. Problem Solution No power Power is suddenly turned off Your PIN is compromised • Make sure that the power indicator is illuminated blue. • Make sure that the power cord is securely connected to the AC-in jack and is plugged into a functional AC outlet. You may want to plug in another electrical device to the power outlet to verify that it is supplying the proper voltage. Press MENU and select Settings, Sleep Timer to make sure the Leave TV Off option is selected. 1. Press MENU and select Settings, Reset All, and then Yes. 2. Access the on-screen menu again and select Locks. 3. Key in and reconfirm your new PIN. Remote control does not work • Replace the batteries. For more information, see "Installing remote control batteries" on page 6. • Make sure that the batteries are inserted correctly. For more information, see "Installing remote control batteries" on page 6. • Make sure that the power cord is plugged into an AC power outlet. The remote control code cannot be detected by a universal remote • Purchase a separate learning remote control. • Go to www.dynexproducts.com for a list of remote control codes.
