Cleaning the print head nozzles If your photos have light or dark lines or incorrect color, the print head nozzles may be clogged. You can run the head cleaning program to unclog the nozzles so they can deliver ink properly. 1. On the Maintenance screen, select Head Cleaning by using the u d buttons, then press the OK button. 2. Select OK by using the u d buttons, then press the OK button. Head cleaning is executed. 3. When the cleaning cycle is finished, load some plain paper in the printer. 4. Select Nozzle Check by using the u d buttons, then press the OK button. The nozzle check pattern is printed. 5. Check the pattern. ❏ If the nozzle check pattern has no white lines or gaps, select Finish by using the u d buttons, then press the OK button. ❏ If the pattern has white lines or gaps, select Clean by using the u d buttons, then press the OK button. Select OK again to run the head cleaning program. When the cleaning cycle is finished. repeat steps 2 and 3 above to make sure the nozzles are clean. 6. button. Head cleaning is executed.
3.
When the cleaning cycle is finished, load some plain paper in the printer.

Select
Nozzle Check
by using the

d
buttons, then press the
OK
button. The nozzle check pattern
is printed.
5.
Check the pattern.
If the nozzle check pattern has no white lines or gaps, select
Finish
by using the
u
d
buttons, then
press the
OK
button.
If the pattern has white lines or gaps, select
Clean
by using the
u
d
buttons, then press the
OK
button. Select
OK
again to run the head cleaning program. When the cleaning cycle is finished.
repeat steps 2 and 3 above to make sure the nozzles are clean.
6.
Press the
MENU
button to return to the previous screen.
