Working with the notebook Setting up WLAN access • Requirement: A WLAN must be available and you must have the corresponding access information. Information on configuring the WLAN access can be found in the documentation for your operating system. Access via UMTS If you have ordered your device with a built-in UMTS module, your device will be equipped with the corresponding aerials, a SIM card slot and the software for establishing a connection. You can purchase a SIM card in a shop. ► Windows XP and Windows Vista: To connect to a UMTS network, select Start - Programs -OneClick Internet. ► Windows 7: To connect to a UMTS network, select Start - All Programs -OneClick Internet. or ► On the desktop, double-click on the OneClick Internet icon (device-dependent). Ethernet and LAN Eth ern et LAN The internal network module of your notebook supports Ethernet LAN. You can use it to establish a connection to a local network (LAN = Local Area Network). ► Connect the network cable to the LAN port of the notebook (1). ► Connect the network cable to your network connection (2). 1 2 Your network administrator can help you to configure and use the LAN connections.
