This function checks the basic operations of the HDDs. • Initial self-diagnostics • Online self-diagnostics (SEND DIAGNOSTIC command) Table 6.1 lists the contents of the tests performed with the self-diagnostics. For a general check of the HDDs including the operations of the host system and interface, use a test program that runs on the host system (see Subsection 6.1.2).
