Marine Navigation Marine Navigation The GPS 72H can be used for marine navigation, as either a handheld or a mounted device. Mounting the GPS 72H A marine mount may be included with your device, or it is available as an optional accessory. Hardware Needed for Installation • Drill • Screwdriver (Phillips or flat) • Three #8 machine bolts with matching nuts and washers and a 5/32 in. (4 mm) drill bit, or three #8 self-tapping screws and a 1/16 in. (1.5 mm) drill bit. 34 NOTE: Your choice of fastener hardware depends on the mounting surface material. Cradle Bail mount knob Swivel base Bail mount Installing the Mount in a Fixed Position Select a location that provides optimal viewing and allows easy access to the keypad. Select a mounting surface strong enough to support the weight of the device and protect it from excessive vibration or shock.
