Making a SATA RAID Driver Diskette (for Windows XP) Before installing Windows XP, connect a USB floppy disk drive to your computer first because you need to install the SATA RAID/AHCI driver from a floppy disk that contains the driver during the OS installation. To copy the RAID driver for Windows XP 32-bit operating system, copy all files in the \BootDrv\iRST\32Bit folder to your floppy disk. To install Windows 64-Bit, copy the files in the 64Bit folder. Installing Windows XP Restart your system to boot from the Windows XP setup disk and press as soon as you see the message "Press F6 if you need to install a 3rd party SCSI or RAID driver." Installing Windows 7/Vista As Windows 7 and Vista already include SATA RAID/AHCI controller driver, you do not need to install separate RAID/AHCI driver during the Windows installation process. Installing the SATA RAID Driver and Operating System
A. Installing Windows XP
Restart your system to boot from the Windows XP setup disk and press <F6> as soon as you see the mes-
sage "Press F6 if you need to install a 3rd party SCSI or RAID driver."
Insert the floppy disk containing the
SATA controller driver. Select
Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Con-
troller
and press <Enter>. For AHCI mode, use the up arrow key on the keyboard to scroll to the
Intel(R)
Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller
item and press <Enter>.
When
completed, proceed with the Windows XP installation.
B. Installing Windows 7/Vista
As Windows 7 and Vista already include SATA RAID/AHCI controller driver, you do not need to install sepa-
rate RAID/AHCI driver during the Windows installation process. After the operating system is installed, we
recommend that you install all required drivers from the motherboard driver disk using "Xpress Install" to
ensure system performance and compatibility.
Making a SATA RAID Driver Diskette (for Windows XP)
Before installing Windows XP, connect a USB floppy disk drive to your computer first because you need to
install the SATA RAID/AHCI driver from a floppy disk that contains the driver during the OS installation.
To copy the RAID driver for Windows XP 32-bit operating system, copy all files in the \BootDrv\iRST\32Bit
folder to your floppy disk. To install Windows 64-Bit, copy the files in the 64Bit folder.
