User Instructions Before first use Important: Before using the washing machine for the first time it is recommended that you run the machine empty and with no detergent to wash out the system. Please proceed as follows: a: With the appliance turned on, press 'power' to power off washing machine. b: Set the programme knob to quick wash . c: Press the start/pause button and the washing machine will start. d: When the washing programme has finished the indicator light will flash 'slowly' for 1-3 minutes and the door will unlocked. Preparing for a wash Detergent • The type and quantity of deter gent used depends on the fabric you ar e washing, the colour, washing temperature, level of soiling and hardness of water. • For blended or wool fabrics, special deter gent should be used. • Always follow the deter gent manufacturers recommendations. • Dry cleaning solvent MUST not be used. Laundry • Sort out clothes accor ding to the fabric and level of soiling, the three main fabric types are: cotton, synthetic and woollen/silk. • Separate white clothes fr om coloured clothes. If whites and colours ar e to be washed in one load ensure the colours are colourfast. • Remove all objects fr om pockets that could damage the washing machine (keys, coins etc). • Clothing that is frayed or has fringed edges should be placed in a wash bag or equivalent (pillow case etc) before washing. • Repair any damaged clothing (loose buttons, damaged zips etc) before washing. • Bed sheets, table cloths etc should be loosely loaded and not folded. • Always r ead and follow the car e labels on your clothing. Appr oximate weights of typical items Overalls (cotton approx. 950g) Blended fabric clothes (approx. 800g) Woollen blankets (approx. 3000g) Socks (blended fabrics approx. 50g) Jackets (cotton approx. 800g) Single bed sheets (cotton approx. 800g) T-shirts (approx. 300g) Underwear (approx. 70g)Jeans (approx. 800g) Shirts (approx. 300g) Pyjamas (approx. 200g) Tips on energy saving • Washing full loads of laundry will r educe the amount of energy and water used. • Do not overload the washing machine (this can also damage the machine). • Pr ewash or soak heavily soiled clothes. Use a stain remover to remove the worst stains. This will reduce the need to wash at high temperatur es. 11 • For lightly soiled clothing, r educe the amount of detergent used or select normal/middle or delicate wash. • Select the lowest temperatur e setting suitable for the load. • Do not use mor e detergent than required. • Switch of f at the mains after each use.
