Installation Drain hose connection - options Three connection options are available: General notes: The end of the drain hose must not be under water, it must be secur ely fixed and leak-free. If the drain hose is placed on the ground or the height of the pipe is less than 80cm, the washing machine will continuously drain while being filled (self-syphoning). It is recommended that the drain hose is not extended unless absolutely necessary, the extension must be of the same diameter and no longer than 250cm. Option 1: Into a drainage standpipe The standpipe should have an internal diameter of approximately 38mm, this will allow for an air gap between the pipe and hose. Option 1 Drainage standpipe Option 2: Into a sink outlet spigot If the outlet spigot has not been used before, first remove any blanking plug that may be fitted. Push fit the drain hose onto the spigot and fix in place using a securing clip. Note: Ensure there is a raised loop in the drain hose to prevent waste water from the sink entering the washing machine. Option 2 Sink outlet spigot Option 3: Directly into a sink Use the hose clip to hook the drain hose directly over the side of a sink (ensuring the hose is at the correct height).
