Memory count during POST is wrong. Cause The memory modules may not be installed correctly. Integrated graphics may use system memory. Solution Check that the memory modules have been installed correctly and that proper modules are used. No action required. Insufficient memory error during operation. Cause Too many Terminate and Stay Resident programs (TSRs) are installed. You have run out of memory for the application. Solution Delete any TSRs that you do not need. Check the memory requirements for the application or add more memory to the computer. Power LED flashes Red five times, once every second, followed by a two second pause, and the computer beeps five times. (Beeps stop after fifth iteration but LEDs continue flashing.) Cause Solution Memory is installed incorrectly or is bad. 1. Reseat DIMMs. Power on the system. 2. Replace DIMMs one at a time to isolate the faulty module. 3. Replace third-party memory with HP memory. 4. Replace the system board. Solving USB flash drive problems If you encounter USB flash drive problems, common causes and solutions are listed in the following table. USB flash drive is not seen as a drive letter in Windows. Cause The drive letter after the last physical drive is not available. Solution Change the default drive letter for the flash drive in Windows. USB flash drive not found (identified). Cause The device is attached to a USB port that has been hidden in Computer Setup. The device was not properly seated before power-up. Solution Run the Computer Setup utility and enable USB ports in Security > USB Security.
