Troubleshooting DNS Resolver Event Log Messages Message DNS server address not configured DNS server not responding Unknown host < host-name > Meaning The switch does not have an IP address configured for the DNS server. The DNS server failed to respond or is unreachable. An incorrect server IP address can produce this result. The host name did not resolve to an IP address. Some reasons for this occurring include: • The host name was not found. • The named domain was not found. • The domain suffix was expected, but has not been configured. (If the server's IP address has been configured in the switch but the domain name has not been configured, then the host's fully qualified domain name must be used.) C-86
