4. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery packs. 5. Do one of the following: o If a heatsink blank is installed on processor socket 2, remove the heatsink blank and then remove the cables from between the processor socket and the chassis. o If a processor and heatsink are installed in processor socket 2, remove the server A system board assembly ("Server A system board" on page 37) and then remove the cables from between the system board and heatsink. 6. Remove the cable from the cable clips. 7. Remove the cable shield from the upper mezzanine card thumbscrew and the signal connector. 8. Disconnect the cable from the upper cache module. 9. Remove the upper mezzanine card ("Mezzanine card" on page 36). 10. Disconnect the remaining cable from the lower cache module. 11. Remove the lower mezzanine card ("Mezzanine card" on page 36). 12. Remove the failed cable. CAUTION: To prevent battery cable and system board damage, always install the cable shield. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure. Mezzanine card To remove the component: 1. Power down the server blade (on page 23). 2. Remove the server blade (on page 23). 3. Access the internal server components (on page 24). 4. Disconnect any cables connected to the mezzanine card. Removal and replacement procedures 36
