Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 38). 5. Remove the solid-state drive (see WLAN module on page 39). 6. Remove the hard drive (see Hard drive on page 42). Remove the base enclosure: 1. Remove the front rubber feet (1). 2. Remove the screw cover (2). The front rubber feet and the screw cover are included in the Rubber Kit, spare part number 720559-001. Component replacement procedures 49
