Power button board Description Power button board (includes cable) Spare part number 753718-001 Before removing the power button board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29), and then remove the following components: a. Service cover (see Service cover on page 30) b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 41) c. Bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 44) d. Right speaker (see Speakers on page 47) Remove the power button board: 1. Turn the computer right side up, with the front toward you. 2. Open the computer. 3. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the power button board cable is attached, and then disconnect the power button board cable (2) from the system board. 4. Detach the power button board (3) from the bottom cover. (The button board cable is attached to the bottom cover with double-sided tape.) 5. Close the computer. 6. Before removing the power button board, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:

b.
Keyboard (see

)
c.
Bottom cover (see
Bottom cover

d.
Right speaker (see
Speakers

Remove the power button board:
1.
Turn the computer right side up, with the front toward you.
2.
Open the computer.
3.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the power button board cable is attached, and then disconnect
the power button board cable
(2)
from the system board.
4.
Detach the power button board
(3)
from the bottom cover. (The button board cable is attached to
the bottom cover with double-sided tape.)
5.
Close the computer.
6.
Turn the computer upside down, with the rear toward you.
