Hardware Upgrades RAM or Memory PC Cards You can increase RAM (random access memory) with optional PC Cards or memory expansion boards. The notebook has two memory expansion slots and two PC Card slots. The PC Card slots support two Type I or Type II PC Cards or one Type III PC Card. Viewing Memory and Hibernation File Information When RAM increases, the hard drive space reserved for the hibernation file also increases. If you experience problems with Hibernation after increasing RAM, verify that your hard drive has enough free space for the larger hibernation file: ■ To display the amount of RAM in the system: ❏ Windows 2000 Professional-Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > General tab. ❏ Windows XP-Select Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance icon > System > General tab. ■ To view the amount of free space on your hard drive: Select My Computer. hibernation file also increases. If you experience problems with
Hibernation after increasing RAM, verify that your hard drive has
