Using Partition Manager Figure 3-6 Finally, you can determine the current status of any device or component in the system simply by looking at its status icon. The meaning of these status icons is defined in the hardware status legend which is usually located on the right side of the view (see Figure 3-6). Hardware status icons and legend In the example above, a quick glance shows that all of the cells and I/O chassis in Cabinet 0 (cab0) Cabinet 8 (cab8) are powered on and active, and that no faults are detected. This condition is indicated by the green-arrow icons next to each of them. For detailed descriptions about how to use Partition Manager to perform specific management tasks, refer to Partition Manager's on-line help. It is much more extensive and detailed than the brief overview given here. To access help information, click the Help menu item to expand its submenu, which includes a context-sensitive Current View link, and the Overview and About links. There is also context-sensitive help available in most of the dialog screens, in the form of a Help button. Chapter 3 49
