NOTE 1 How to Install Accessories In Your HP PC Workstation Installing a Processor 5 The system board has two processor sockets. a If you are changing the existing (boot) processor, remove it from the socket by gently pulling the processor away from the system board by the processor's handle. Then gently insert the new boot processor. b If you are installing a second (dual) processor, remove the terminator from the processor's socket and gently insert the processor (the processor can only go in one way). If you want to install a faster processor, remove the one supplied with your PC Workstation. If two processors are installed, ensure that both have the same speed (frequency) and cache size (indicated on the side of the processor). 6 The system board has three VRM sockets. a If only one processor is installed (in the boot processor socket), insert a VRM into VRM1 and VRM2. b If two processors are installed, insert a third VRM into VRM3.
