CAUTION Inserting a passive GBIC without Fibre Channel device/ hub attached will cause an open loop condition. This open loop condition will prevent devices attached to the internal HSSDC connector from functioning. To avoid this situation, avoid inserting the passive GBIC until external Fibre Channel devices are attached to the passive GBIC. Installing the GBIC Select the type of GBIC module that is compatible with your system. • Install the GBIC into the receptacle on the Adapter. Refer to Figure 2-2 below. Installing the GBIC
Select the type of GBIC module that is compatible with your system.
Install the GBIC into the receptacle on the Adapter.
Refer to Figure 2-2 below.
NOTE
You can only install the GBIC one way, as the GBIC and guide rails
inside the Adapter receptacle are keyed.
