Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30), and then remove the following components: ● Service cover (see WLAN module on page 32) ● Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 39) ● Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 41) ● Top cover (see Top cover on page 44) When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board: ● SIM (see SIM (select models only) on page 31) ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 32) ● WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 35) ● RTC battery (see RTC battery on page 38) ● Memory module (see Memory module on page 37) ● Power connector cable (see System board on page 51) ● Fan (see Fan on page 54) ● Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 55) Component replacement procedures 51

Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
