Spare part number L57018-001 Before removing the heat sink/fan assembly, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 26). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 27). 3. Disconnect the battery (see Battery and speakers on page 32). Remove the heat sink/fan assembly: 1. Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screws (1) that secure the bracket to the computer. 2. Remove the bracket from the fan (2). 3. Disconnect the two fan cables from the system board (1). 4. Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 5.5 screws (2) from each fan. 5. Loosen the seven captive Phillips screws (3) in the order indicated on the heat sink. Component replacement procedures 35
