Security lock bracket Description Security Lock/Bracket Hardware Kit Spare part number 640342-001 Before removing the security lock bracket, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 33) b. Memory module (see Memory module on page 34 ) c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 39) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 41) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 46) f. Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page 59) Remove the security lock bracket: 1. Position the computer right-side up, with the right side toward you. 2. Remove the security lock bracket:
1.
Position the computer right-side up, with the right side toward you.
2.
Remove the Phillips 4.5x2.5 screw
(1)
that secures the security lock bracket to the base
enclosure.
