Troubleshooting Table 5-1: Responding to Audible Alarms continued Audible Alarm Group Audible Alarm Sound Cause Shutdown within 30 seconds (continued) Beeping begins slowly and gains speed as the UPS approaches shutdown. The UPS shuts down 30 seconds after audible alarm begins. If a shutdown delay has been programmed, the accelerated alarm begins before the last segment shutoff. The alarm occurs during the last minute of Sleep timer if Sleep mode is enabled. Loads in Jeopardy A continuous alarm sounds. This audible alarm tells you the loads are in jeopardy and will sound until the condition is resolved for all load groups. The Standby button was pressed, placing the UPS in Standby mode. An overload greater than 105% occurs while the UPS is in Operate mode or on battery power. Warning A beep sounds every half second. The UPS is running out of battery power while on battery power. The self-test fails. The battery test fails. Heat sink is over temperature while the UPS is not on battery. An over voltage condition occurs. Action No action is needed. No action is needed. Take the UPS out of Standby mode. Check the LCD display to verify the total load. Reduce the load on the UPS. Check the battery status on the LCD display. Check the batteries status on the LCD display and run the self-test again. Check the LCD display to see if the voltage is too low. Check if you have a bad battery, a battery is disconnected, or a battery breaker is in the on position. Run the battery test again. Check to make sure the airflow around and to the UPS is not restricted. Check the room's ambient temperature. If the alarm still sounds, contact an authorized service provider. Cycle the input power (turn the mains circuit breaker off, then on).
