Empty waste ink, Printer Settings > Use Service Station, Float

Page 36 highlights

Empty waste ink Each time the printheads are purged or primed, a small amount of ink is expelled and collected in the waste ink reservoir below the printhead service station. When one liter of ink has accumulated, a float switch tells the printer that the reservoir should be emptied, and the printer notifies you with a control panel message. Alternatively, you can tell the printer to track the amount of ink expelled from the printheads rather than use the float switch (see menu: Printer Settings > Use Service Station Float). The reservoir drain spigot is located under the media drive belt on the user end of the printer. To empty the reservoir, place a 1 liter (about 1 quart) or larger container below the spigot, and turn the handle on top of the spigot to open it. When the ink has drained, close the spigot and dispose of the ink according to the ink's Material Safety Data Sheet and local regulations. 30 Chapter 2 Printing ENWW

Empty waste ink
Each time the printheads are purged or primed, a small amount of ink is expelled and collected in the
waste ink reservoir below the printhead service station. When one liter of ink has accumulated, a float
switch tells the printer that the reservoir should be emptied, and the printer notifies you with a control
panel message. Alternatively, you can tell the printer to track the amount of ink expelled from the
printheads rather than use the float switch (see menu:
Printer Settings > Use Service Station
Float
).
The reservoir drain spigot is located under the media drive belt on the user end of the printer. To empty
the reservoir, place a 1 liter (about 1 quart) or larger container below the spigot, and turn the handle on
top of the spigot to open it. When the ink has drained, close the spigot and dispose of the ink according
to the ink's Material Safety Data Sheet and local regulations.
