Description Heat sink (includes replacement thermal material) Spare part number 907557-001 Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 24), and then remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 26). b. Fan (see Heat sink fan on page 30). c. System board (see System board on page 39). Remove the heat sink: 1. Position the system board upside down. 2. Loosen the three captive Phillips screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the system board. NOTE: Due to the adhesive quality of the thermal material located between the heat sink and system board components, it may be necessary to move the heat sink from side to side to detach it. 3. Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1.
