SANvergence Manager Application Application GUI This section describes the SANvergence Manager and Element Manager applications that provide a GUI to monitor and manage SAN routers, attached Fibre Channel elements, and metropolitan storage area network (mSAN) connectivity. An Element Manager application is provided for Eclipse 1620 and 2640 SAN Routers. The SANvergence Manager application is an intuitive GUI that communicates with an attached metropolitan simple name server (mSNS). Through the mSNS, the application auto-discovers all SAN Routers, directors, and fabric switches in the mSAN; monitors product operational status, and reports problems in an event log. The application is opened from the management server desktop. When the application starts, the main window opens (Figure 2-6).
