Migration steps Step Description Check 1 Isolate the system unit from the network: F • Notify users that the system is temporarily going offline. • Disconnect all network sessions: • From the server console desktop, select Start>Run. • In the Run window, enter compmgmt.msc and then click OK to open the Computer Management Utility. • In the left pane click Computer Management>System Tools> Shared Folders>Sessions. • In the right pane, right-click, and then select Disconnect All Sessions. • Close the Computer Management Utility window. • Disable all network connections: • From the server console desktop, select Start>Run. • In the Run window, enter ncpa.cpl and then click OK to open the Network (and Dial-up) Connections Utility. • Right-click each network connection and select Disable. • Close the Network (and Dial-up) Connections Utility window. 2 Temporarily disable any applications on the system that have heavy IO on the MSA F disk array. 3 From the back of the system unit, disconnect the Fibre Channel cable from the HBA F card that is connected to the passive MSA controller. 4 (For systems with HP Basic MPIO software only) F Uninstall HP Basic MPIO software: • From the server console desktop, select Start>Run. • In the Run window, enter appwiz.cpl and then click OK to open the Add (or /) Remove Programs Utility. • Select the HP Basic MPIO program, and then click Change/Remove to uninstall the software. • Click OK. The server restarts. • Close the Add (or/) Remove Programs Utility window. • Verify that the system restarts without any issues. 22 Migrating multi-path standalone systems
