4-4 Deploying an OS image Deploying an image is the process of installing the OS image from the eXpress directory to one or more client computers (see Figure 4-8). Figure 4-8 Image deployment eXpress directory Deploy There are two options for deploying OS images: • Deploy the image while retaining the OS settings stored in partition 5. The sample job DeployKeepSettings deploys an OS image in this manner. • Deploy the image while overwriting all OS settings. The sample job DeployImg deploys an OS image in this manner. Section 3-3, "Installing Deployment Solution sample jobs", describes how to download these sample jobs. Figure 4-9 and Figure 4-10 on the next two pages describe the DeployKeepSettings job.
