After the equipment arrives at the customer site, carefully inspect each carton for signs of shipping damage. A tilt indicator is installed on each carton shipped. The beads in the indicator will roll to the upper position if the container has been tilted to an angle that could cause equipment damage. The tilt indicator itself will have two windows and each window under normal conditions will show four beads present. If a carton has been mishandled, accidentally dropped, or knocked against something, the tilt indicator will indicate missing beads. If damage is found, document the damage with photographs and contact the transport carrier immediately. Examine the server cabinet for visible shipping damage. After unpacking the cabinet, check for damage that may have been obscured by the shipping container. If damage is found after visual inspection, document the damage with photographs and contact the transport carrier immediately. If the equipment has any damage, a damage claim form must be obtained by the customer from the shipping representative. The customer should complete the form and return it to the shipping representative. NOTE The factory provides an installation warranty that is effective from the time the customer receives the shipment until Field Services turns the system over to the customer. Upon inspection of a received system and/or during installation of the system, if any parts or accessories are missing or defective, they will be replaced directly from the factory via a priority process. To request replacement parts, the HP Installation Specialist must contact the local Order Fulfillment group which will coordinate the replacement with the factory. Chapter 3 29
