Figure 2.3 illustrates one possible configuration for the rack console switch. (showing a 2 x 16 model). As shown, keyboards and mice can be connected to either USB ports or PS/2 ports. Connections to USB and PS/2 ports can be mixed. For example, while connecting the same local user station, you can connect a PS/2 keyboard and a USB mouse. The illustration shows a CO used to connect Server 1. Console switch cables are also supported for connecting servers. See the detailed set of procedures following the figure to configure the rack console switch.
