Chapter 3: Using the OSCAR Interface 31 Configuring server names Use the Names window to configure names for servers. The Names list is always sorted by port order. A name assigned to a server is stored in the console switch cable or CO, so even if you move the cable or CO to another ARI port, the name and configuration of the server is still recognized by the switch. NOTE: If a server is turned off, its CO or console switch cable does not appear in the Names list. Accessing the Names window 1. Access the Setup window. If needed, see "Accessing the Setup window" on page 30. 2. Click Setup->Names. The Names window opens. Configuring server names
Use the Names window to configure names for servers. The Names list is always sorted by port
order.
A name assigned to a server is stored in the console switch cable or CO, so even if you move the
cable or CO to another ARI port, the name and configuration of the server is still recognized by the
switch.
NOTE:
If a server is turned off, its CO or console switch cable does not appear in the Names list.
