All Terminal commands are accessed through a terminal or PC running terminal emulation software. Configuring the Terminal Menu The RCM Terminal Applications menu features five selections: Network Configuration, Firmware Management, Enable Debug Messages, Set/Change Password and Exit. Connect a terminal or PC running terminal emulation software (such as HyperTerminal) to the configuration port on the back panel of the RCM using a straight-through serial cable. The terminal should be set to 9600 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity and no flow control. The terminal may be connected at any time, even when the unit is powered. 2. Press any key to access the main menu. Network Configuration The RCM is configured for network access through this option. When it is selected, you will have access to the addressing that allows the RCM to be positioned in your network. For more information, see Installing Your RCM in Chapter 2.
