Operator Panel Message 140 48 VOLTS FAILED * SEE USERS MANUAL Display Messages Table 3. Message List Explanation Corrective Action The power supply is not generating a proper 48 Volts, or the controller board is not detecting a 48 Volt output from the power supply board. 1. Power off and unplug the printer. Remove the paper guide assembly or top cover to gain access to the card cage. 2. Make sure the power supply board is correctly connected to the controller board. 3. Plug in the printer and power it on. If the message appears, do the power supply operational check (page 258). If the power supply fails the check, replace it. If it passes the check, the controller board or the code is suspect. Do the following: 4. Save the printer configuration values. (Refer to the User's Manual.) 5. Clear the NVRAM. 6. Download and install the latest code from IBM First (page 231). 7. Power on the printer in download mode and load flash memory (page 238). a. If you encounter loading problems, go to the appropriate error code for resolution. b. If you encounter the failure or message that brought you to this procedure, contact your DDS and Second Level Support. 120
